Project Submission for APGDM-Jan 2010 and PGEM-Jan 2011

Dear All,

as you all move towards Sem 4 (2yr APGDM, Jan 2010) and Sem 2 (1yr PGEM, Jan 2011), I would like to remind you that in order to successfully complete the course, you guys are required to work on a project based upon the area of specialization (for Sem 4 APGDM, Jan 2011) or the area of your interest (for Sem 2, PGEM Jan 2011) falling in any one of the following 6 heads, Finance, HR, Marketing, Systems, Operations or International Business. This is a COMPULSORY requirement.

The process is as follows:
1. You need to submit a synopsis of your project (as per guidelines)
2. The synopsis would evaluated by faculty members from the respective area of the topic
3. You would then receive the annotated version back
4. Need to execute the project and implement any changes that are suggested to you
5. Prepare and submit a project report
6. Appear for a viva

The tentative timeline for your reference is as follows:

1. Submission of Synopsis - 17th August, 2011 (without late fees)
2. Submission of Project report - 30th November, 2011
3. Project Viva - 1st/2nd week of Jan 2012

The synopsis would be submitted via online on the website with Student Homepage login. No physical copies need to be submitted.

More process related info would be provided as applicable.

Project Synopsis and Report Guidelines are there in the Student Homepage section of our IMTCDL website. A copy of the guidelines is attached herewith along with a set of guidelines that we had prepared for HR students. All you guys can refer to it for clarity about the synopsis/report.

Pls go through the same for clarity or you may revert back to me for any clarifications doubts etc.  

Project Submission - Old Batches

Dear All,

as you are aware, there is a requirement for you to prepare and submit a project report for your Sem 4 or Sem 2 (as applicable) evaluation.

However, due to some reason, many of you have not been able to appear for your viva’s in time,
So you guys would need to complete this activity for the award of your diploma.

Pls fill up this form so that I capture your info and proceed accordingly.


I had already circulated the project guidelines and am appending the same as below for your reference. A copy of the official project guidelines is also attached with this mail.

The topic is to be from the area of your specialization (2yr APGDM) or needs to be parked under any one of the following 6 fields (Marketing, HR, Finance, Operations, Systems, ) for the 1yr PGEM course.

This time the synopses are to be submitted online in soft copy, so it becomes easier for all.

The last date is 17th August, 2011, w/o late fees.

Dear All,

as per my previous mail, just a reminder, the date for submission of the project synopsis is 15th Feb.

Pls ensure that I receive the same before the said date. 

For submission, pls look at the following steps:

1. Need to prepare a synopsis report with the following components: (guidelines are attached)
a. Topic/Title
b. Brief Background on both the topic and the company(ies) under study
c. Objectives and Scope of YOUR project
d. Methodology of conducting the project
e. Data collection tool (questionnaire, interview questions)
f.  References
g. Resume and Consent Letter from Guide
h. A cover sheet (copy attached) needs to be put on top of the synopsis report

2. Pls adhere to the timelines laid out.

Deadlines for Project Submission, June 2011 cycle

Dear All, (APGDM July 2009 and PGEM July 2010)

As you are aware, you need to submit the project report to IMT-CDL to enable you to appear for the viva in July and complete your course.

The deadlines are as follows: (for receipt of the hard copy format at the respective locations)
1. 31st May, 2011 (w/o late fees)
2. 15th June, 2011 (with late fees of Rs 1,000/-)

The timeframe for the viva is: 2nd week of July onwards. Further details will be communicated to you later.

For any student based in the US or abroad, you need to intimate me about your locational status so that necessary arrangements can be made for your viva to be taken via videoconferencing.

For all students in India, pls note that we have 4 locations for the viva, you may choose the one which is most convenient. The locations are Ghaziabad, Mumbai, Kolkata and Hyderabad.

All students need to attach a top sheet on the project report (available in the Student Homepage titled "Project Submission form, June 2011") with your locational preference and you need to send your project report to THE LOCATION chosen by you. Abroad students will send their project reports to Ghaziabad only.

All reports need to be in hard copy format and properly arranged and tied together, so that nothing goes missing while handling. Suggest that you all get the reports and attachments spiral bound.

Pls adhere to the deadlines and guidelines as prescribed above and ensure that your project report is complete in all respects and includes all/any of the following attachments as applicable:

1. Project Report (complete with data collection, analysis, tools used, methodology, project background, theoretical review etc.)
2. Photocopy of approved Synopsis
3. Photocopy of ID card
4. Top Sheet with locational preference
5. Resume and Consent Letter (in original) from your project guide.

Project Reports Submission

Dear All,

many of you (2yr APGDM, July 2009 Sem 4 and 1yr PGEM July 2010 Sem 2) have your project submissions in this semester.

You have submitted your synopsis and you would have recd the checked ones by now as well.

Pls note that the timelines for the Project Submission are as below:
1. Submission of Project report - on/before 30th May, 2011
2. Project Viva - Approx 2nd Week of July, 2011.

For the project viva your presence would be required at IMT-CDL, Ghaziabad or any other locations to be designated by us.

Kindly plan accordingly.
